Blacklisted and Unaccredited Philippine Freight Forwarders


 

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) warns those who are planning to send   BalikBayan boxes specially in holiday season to be aware against blacklisted freight forwarders.

DTI says if the sender wants to be sure that the counterpart forwarder here in the Philippine is accredited by DTI, they have to ask, whether in Australia or Riyadh which forwarder is their counterpart in Philippines then you will know if it is accredited by DTI.

Otherwise the recipient   will not receive the Balik bayan box because the forwarder employs the unaccredited local fright forwards.

Meanwhile the Bureau of Customs lunched online tracking system so that recipients and senders can trace their package. Information like the origin, the foreign and local forwarders, when it entered. You can go to the website of Bureau of Customs http://customs.gov.ph/ and look for Balikbayan boxes buttons.

BOC said that the reason why they lunched the system is to make it clear to the  senders and recipients the status of a particular shipment inside the BOC because that is what are they  control of. If there any delay in shipment BOC has no hand in it.

DTI has issued an advisory and a sort of warning as of March 18, 2016 regarding the

Lists of Blacklisted or Unaccredited Philippine Freight Forwarders with Pending Administrative cases, as well as blacklisted foreign freight forwarders and consolidators
