Peter Lim, the Cebu-based businessman who met President Rodrigo Duterte a few months back to deny that he was a drug dealer, is indeed involved in the illegal drug trade, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre said on Friday.
Aguirre said this was the result of the investigation conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation on Lim, who figured in Duterte’s drug matrix of drug personalities.
“Iniimbestigahan pa rin siya… Well, because he is also involved in drugs,” Aguirre said.
Aguirre, however, pointed out Lim was not the Jaguar identified as another key drug personality in the network.
He said Jaguar was actually Jeffrey Diaz, the suspected Central Visayas drug lord who was killed in a police operation in Las Piñas on June 18.
“Baka mali ang pagkasabi (in the drug matrix) kasi patay na. At the time the drug matrix came out, talagang patay na si Jaguar because it happened…before the President assumed office,” Aguirre said.
‘”Yung namatay sa Las Piñas, ‘yun ang talagang si Jaguar,” he added.
Aguirre added he he will confer with the NBI regarding the developments of the probe.
“Apparently di nakafocus dun ang investigation kasi nga talagang namatay na si Jaguar,” Aguirre said
