Presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte on Monday called on the members of the legislative body to be more circumspect and to respect executive officials and men in uniform during congressional hearings. In a press conference, Duterte asked members of the Senate and House of Representatives to treat witnesses with respect.
Duterte did not mention any specific name but it is obvious that he referring to Senator Trillanes, base on his narrative regarding on the case of Angelo Reyes.
“I would like to plead to Congress to be more circumspect. I have, once upon a time, been a congressman, and I should know. ‘Yung the way you treat bureau directors, you treat the Cabinet members before you, you treat the witnesses, pati mga police generals. Sigaw sigawan ninyo. I will not allow it. I will not allow it,” he said
