Pia Ranada of Rappler barred by members PSG from entering Malacanang.

Rappler journalist and member of the Malacañang Press Corps (MPC) Pia Ranada has been barred from entering the Malacanang Palace for still not yet known reasons.

In a recent post by Rappler’s Facebook page, Ranada claimed that a member of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) barred her from entering the executive building to attend the daily Malacañang press conference.

However, after several minutes, Ranada gave an update and she said that the members of the PSG clarified that she was allowed to enter the press working area in the New Executive Building but not Malacanang palace itself.

After the incident, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that Rappler can still attend the press conference in the palace, however if the SEC already finalized its decision, the media website must be transferred to The Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP).
